New report: Musculoskeletal disorders and work organisation in the European clothing industry
The tripartite advisory committee for safety, hygiene and health protection at work recently called on the European Commission to take initiatives on musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) prevention when it adopted a report recommending that regulatory and non-regulatory action to expand primary prevention of MSD be introduced at in European workplaces. The report offers a comprehensive review of existing scientific knowledge related to MSD in the textile and clothing industry. It also examines organisational changes in the sector, considering established and emerging health and safety issues. At the same time, it presents practical examples of how trade union mobilization and participatory approaches have addressed MSD problems in different workplaces across Europe.
