The European Parliament has created a 'sky and space' intergroup to establish a dialogue on aerospace topics and provide MEPs with comprehensive information on the subject. The group has already set dates for three informative meetings of timely relevance: the Sixth Framework programme for research, Galileo - the European global positioning system, and the European single sky. Coordination of the group's activities will be carried out through the European association of aerospace industries (AECMA), whose 16 members comprise the EU's national aerospace associations and that of the Czech Republic. The intergroup aims to provide the basis for a comprehensive dialogue on aerospace between the various political groups represented in the Parliament, and to provide them with complete and open information. The forum will be open to representatives from the EU institutions and industry, as well as MEPs.
