The European Commission's Research DG has announced a call for tenders for a study on 'gaining better knowledge of the place research and technological development occupies in the outermost regions of Europe and how best the latter can be integrated into the European Research Area [ERA]'. The study relates to Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique and Réunion in France, Madeira and the Azores in Portugal and the Canary Islands in Spain and will comprise of: - identifying all major research actions undertaken in the outermost regions in order to have a detailed overview of the research, technological development and innovation policies followed in said territories and mapping RTD (research and technological development) in the outermost regions. - improving the integration of the outermost regions into the European research area.For further information, please contact: European Commission Directorate-General Research Attn: Mr J-L Blanc rue de la Loi/Wetstraat 200 B-1049 Brussels Fax +32-2-295 7729
