A guide to the Innovation Scoreboard and other benchmarking initiatives
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is hosting a new service to support the forthcoming publication of the 'Innovation Scoreboard' in September 2001. The service offers guidance on the purpose and content of this new assessment of innovation performance in the individual Member States. A list of questions and answers offers a thorough set of explanations on the raison d'être and future developments of the benchmarking tool. In addition, other scoreboard and benchmarking initiatives conducted at European level are included, with relevant information and links. A list of news articles is also provided to offer a full picture of scoreboard exercises. Further news articles will follow up developments after the publication of the official document, the first set of findings, which will be annually updated, and related debates. Additional links provide quick access to related information on innovation policy and activities as well as studies and relevant statistics. The service will prove useful for policy makers and innovation stakeholders seeking to better understand and follow up the European Commission's benchmarking activities and strategies.
