New service to promote global change related research activities
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is offering a new site dedicated to the key action 'Global change, climate and biodiversity', available on the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (EESD) web service. The site offers a comprehensive picture of supported activities and direct access to many innovative solutions developed through completed or ongoing research projects under the Fifth Framework programme (FP5) as well as previous programmes. Over 100 projects can be consulted covering, for example, research on ecosystem modeling, the effects of climate change, the implementation of Kyoto Protocol and more. All products, services, tools and technologies are presented with descriptions and contact details to ease potential transfer. In addition, the site offers links to reference documents on legislation in force and in preparation as well as a list of contacts within the European Commission. The site will prove useful for innovation actors interested in new approaches to understanding, observing and assessing climate change processes, terrestrial and marine ecosystems or in working on innovative strategies to respond to global change and biodiversity issues.
