Commission announces call for tender for study on short-range radio applications
The Enterprise Directorate General of the European Commission has announced a call for tender for a study on the development and competitive factors of short-range radio applications. The mechanical, electrical engineering, radio and telecom terminal equipment industries unit needs a study to provide the Commission with an overview on technological, industrial and competitive aspects of short-range radio applications. The unit also requires a strategic assessment, including regulatory aspects, of such applications. The study is being undertaken in the context of the action plan to strengthen the competitiveness of European industry (Council decision 96/413/EC of 25-06-1996 on the implementation of a Community action plan to strengthen the competitiveness of European industry) and the Directive on radio equipment telecommunications terminal equipment (Directive 1999/5/EC of 09-03-1999 on radio equipment and telecommunications terminal equipment and the mutual recognition of their conformity).For further information, please contact: M.
