Figures on European Research Area progress available on CORDIS
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is publishing new science and technology indicators for the European research area(ERA). An interactive geographic search gives direct access to comprehensive national records on human resources, public and private investment, productivity and economic competitiveness. Users can access data from benchmark exercises in EU Member States, the USA and Japan. The information is arranged thematically to enable quick comparison among countries. In addition, the new service offers information on initiatives to build up a common basis for science and technology indicators. Direct links are offered to projects dealing with innovation data collection policies, benchmarking, trends and comparative analysis. The site also offers links to key publications and to bodies such as Eurostat, national statistic offices and international data collection services. Further European contacts are also provided. The regularly-updated indicators featured on the CORDIS site provide valuable information and support for public policy makers and all innovation stakeholders. The information the indicators provide will complement data from the recent European Innovation Scoreboard, also published on CORDIS, in helping to build better strategic coordination at European level.
