JRC announces call for tender for study on toxicity of metal-based alloys
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has announced a call for tender for a study on in vitro tests for the toxicity of metal-based alloys, 'pathogenic studies on metal-induced modulation of biocompatibility,' to be based at its institute in Ispra, Italy. The aim of the study is the development of mechanistically-based in vitro models by using cells of human origin to investigate the effects of selected metal compounds in the form of metal ions or particles in the nanometer range which are relevant to biocompatibility and specific basis biological reactions which are, as yet, inadequately understood. The duration of the contract will be 24 months. For further information, please contact: Dr E.
