Innovation policy to receive new analysis
The Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe, Germany, and the department of innovation studies (DIS) of the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands, have established a joint chair for innovation research. The two institutions came together to create the new chair for Innovation Policy Analysis in Utrecht, which will be taken up by Professor Stefan Kuhlmann of Fraunhofer ISI. Professor Kuhlmann, who will remain head of the department of technology analysis and innovation strategies at the Fraunhofer ISI, researches the relationship between innovation and political influence on an international level. The University of Utrecht's department of innovation is the innovation research centre of the Copernicus Institute for sustainable development and innovation. It already has chairs for 'technology and innovation ' and 'innovation and organisation.' The new professorship will be in the Dutch Graduate School of Science, Technology and Modern Culture and will make a major contribution to the 'science and innovation management' course.
