Commission calls for support for audiovisual festivals under Media Plus programme
The European Commission has announced a call for proposals for the Media Plus programme, relating to support for promotion and market access in connection with audiovisual festivals. The call is based on a Council Decision of December 2000 on the implementation of a programme to encourage the development, distribution and promotion of European audiovisual works. As regards festivals, the actions to be implemented under this decision include supporting audiovisual festivals realised in partnership and screening a significant proportion of European works. The call is addressed to European organisations and operators whose activities contribute to the above objective. It explains how to obtain the documents required for submitting a proposal with a view to receiving financial support from the Community for the organisation of audiovisual festivals. The Commission department responsible for administering this call for proposals is the audiovisual support unit within the Education and Culture DG.
