The Slovenian business and research association (SBRA) has made a major push to find new research partnerships with EU countries as part of its drive to increase foreign direct investment into the country. A new CD-ROM was unveiled at a conference promoting these developments, held in Brussels on 8 November, entitled 'Slovenia - your investment partner'. The CD-ROM contains all the information required on Slovenian R&D (research and development), as well as the contact details of potential partners. There is information on 400 research organisations or institutions, among which are 260 companies with their own R&D departments. The CD-ROM also gives an extensive background on the strengths of Slovenian R&D, the country's policy towards R&D and an analysis of its participation in the EU's framework programmes. An additional feature allows users to browse information on 8,340 individual Slovenian researchers. The information has been put together by the SBRA in collaboration with the Slovenian Ministries of Economy and of Education, science and sport, as well as the various business and liaison organisations. In the first instance, 3,000 CD-ROMs have been issued and are available by contacting the SBRA (details below).
