CORDIS launches Descartes Prize service
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, has launched a new service to cover the Descartes Prize activities. Launched in 2000, the Descartes Prize aims to promote scientific and technological excellence and raise awareness on successful European collaborative research in all scientific fields. A grand jury made up of well-known figures from academia, industry and public life selects the winners from a list of submitted research projects. The initiative stresses the European added value of cross-border teamwork and raises the profile of outstanding findings. The new service offers all prize-related information for the media and potential applicants, including participation conditions, submission documents and descriptions of 2000 and 2001 winners' prize.
