Action programme on nutrition and health
A Resolution of the Council and of the Representatives of the Member States (3 December 1990) invites the Commission to submit to the Council a proposal for an action programme on nutrition and health, including the implementation of a "European Nutrition Year" in 1994. The Resolution sets out specific objectives and guidelines for the programme focusing on measures to heighten awareness in different sectors of society, advance pilot projects on nutrition, undertake research and studies on nutrition and health and step up and diversify the work of the Scientific Committee for Food. If need be, a Scientific Committee for Nutrition will be set up, attached to the Commission.
