A CORDIS Information Day for Commission Officials serving as Programme Managers and/or contact persons will be held in Brussels on 25 October 1993. The CORDIS service has grown and matured considerably since its launch in December 1990 and is now well known among the specific programmes of the Second and Third Framework Programmes as well as among many other Community RTD-related programmes and actions. It is also accessed by an ever increasing number of public and private bodies throughout Europe, including research institutes, industry, educational establishments, and information dissemination organizations. Close contact is maintained between the CORDIS Management Team, the CORDIS Information Collection Unit (ICU) and Commission programme managers and other contact persons. Information on Community RTD activities is collected by the CORDIS ICU from documentary sources, internal Commission databases, and via an extensive network of contacts. The CORDIS Information Day aims to strengthen links with all those involved in Community RTD activities, and to demonstrate how CORDIS can help to promote the effective utilization and dissemination of information on all Community RTD programmes, projects, news, contacts and publications. The full-day event will include hands-on demonstrations, presentations on the collection and dissemination of programme information, and an opportunity for meetings with the CORDIS Management Team and contacts with the Information Collection staff.
