Digital European Cordless Telecommunications (DECT)
On 13 December 1990 the Commission submitted an amendment (COM(90) 677) to the proposal for a Council Recommendation on the coordinated introduction of Digital European Cordless Telecommunications (OJ No C 187 of 27.7.1990). A new Point 6 has been added and Point 8 has been expanded. Point 6 (new): That an appropriate tariff strategy be developed regarding charges for minimum service capabilities in order to stimulate the mobile telecommunications market, to permit users to travel without penalty from one Community country to another and to reduce the distance-dependence of tariffs. Point 8 (additional text): That provision be made for the consultation of telecommunications organizations, users, consumers, manufacturers, service providers and trade unions during implementation of the Recommendation.
