European students are being offered the chance to win a one-year internship with the European space agency (ESA) in ESA's Success 2002 competition. The winner of the contest will receive a one-year internship at ESA's research and technology centre ESTEC, in the Netherlands. During the internship, the winner will work on the experiment, test it on a parabolic flight or even fly it to the International Space Station. Runner-up prizes include a laptop computer and a trip to Europe's spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana. Participants must register at the Success 2002 web site (see below) and submit an essay outlining a proposed experiment. The best essays will be selected for the second phase of the contest, where contestants will be asked to write a detailed experiment proposal.
