The Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission has published its annual report for 2001 in both paper and CD format. 'I have been pleased with the efforts the JRC has made over the last year to concentrate resources more on its core tasks and ensure that its work is driven by customer demand, with clear cut service orientation,' says EU Research Commissioner, Philippe Busquin, in his foreword to the publication. Barry McSweeney, the JRC's Director-General emphasised that JRC is playing a role in both the creation of the European research area (ERA) and the enlargement process.
