RTD-Partners update on AIR and BIOTECH programmes
The aim of the CORDIS RTD-Partners database is to help the research and development community in Europe to identify suitable partners for all types of collaboration including calls for proposals, joint ventures, license agreements etc. Recently, at the request of CORDIS Correspondents in Member States and EFTA countries, and with agreement from the programme managers, RTD-Partners has conducted a special initiative for the programmes AIR (the specific RTD and demonstration programme in the field of agriculture and agro-industry, 1990-1994) and BIOTECH (the specific RTD programme in the field of biotechnology, 1990-1994). A significant number of requests for entry forms for these programmes was received during September and October 1993. This resulted in more than 80 partnership requests for AIR and over 60 requests for the BIOTECH programme currently listed on the database. These are in addition to the 2000 relevant partnership requests available in the area of biotechnology, of which 1000 are also relevant to agriculture. Entries have been received from the majority of EC and EFTA countries and from all types of institutions. This initiative for the AIR and BIOTECH programmes is the first of a series which focuses on areas of particular interest to CORDIS users. RTD-Partners will be pleased to receive suggestions for other initiatives concerning the specific RTD programmes and special areas of technology.
