International cooperation - multilateral coordination of national RTD policies and activities
The European Commission has published a call for proposals for specific support actions for multilateral coordination of national RTD policies and activities under the thematic priority 'Specific measures in support of international cooperation - multilateral coordination of national RTD policies and activities'. This is one of the areas covered by the 'Integrating and strengthening the European Research Area' specific programme. The funding instrument for this call will be specific support actions. The general objective of international cooperation activities (point 10 in the work programme) carried out under the Framework Programme is to help open up the European Research Area to the rest of the world. These activities represent the particular contribution of the Framework Programme to this opening-up process, which will require a joint effort by the Community and the Member States. Activities under the heading of 'multilateral coordination of national RTD policies and activities' (10.3.2 in the work programme) have in particular the following objectives: - to support the external relations, including the development policy of the Community; - to strengthen co-ordination and complementarity with activities carried out by means of Community foreign policy instruments (MEDA, TACIS, EDF, ALA); - to support particular joint efforts by the Community and the Member States to the opening up of the European Research Area to the rest of the world. The budget for this call for 2003 is 0.6 million euro. The budget for 2004, 2005 and 2006 will be given in periodic updates of the work programme. To see the call text, please visit: http://fp6.cordis.lu/fp6/call_details.cfm?CALL_ID=47(opens in new window)
