The establishment of a European stakeholder forum on sustainable mobility was announced on 19 March in Brussels. The forum, organised by Opel, aims at fostering discussion on corporate responsibility in the car manufacturing sector in relation to the creation of sustainable transport solutions for the benefit of the environment and society. The forum will bring together employees, customers, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), research institutions, as well as the media and policy makers and suppliers. It is expected that such dialogue will enable corporations to develop policies that are not only responsive to their business needs but also to the needs and concerns of stakeholders. 'Consultation with stakeholders is an important part of doing business and enables us to become aware of others' views,' said Klaudia Martini, from the management board of Opel.
