CORDIS Regional Gateway introduces research and innovation service for Brittany
CORDIS, the Community Research and Development Information Service, is hosting a new service on innovation activities in Brittany, France. This service is developed jointly by a pool of active networks assisting regional research and innovation stakeholders, in conjunction with the Regional Council of Brittany. It provides an introduction to the regional activities and infrastructures as well as contact details of the main support organisations. The service offers information on the regional strategy and provides further insights into economic activities and major innovation support initiatives both at local and European level. It highlights the expertise of this maritime region in research namely on food, biotechnology and telecommunications. Links are provided to a large variety of higher education institutes, universities and research centres in the region where over 10,000 researchers work in the public and private sectors. In addition, the service offers access to search facilities to identify organisations involved in some 700 European projects. The new service aims at promoting the innovation competences of the region and furthering cooperation with other European partners. Available in French and soon in English, it will be officially launched in Rennes on 4 April 2003. The programme includes a presentation of CORDIS and the regional windows by the CORDIS Communications and Awareness team.
