The European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) has published a catalogue of its 103 young investigators, whom they believe to be among the best young researchers in Europe. The EMBO 'young investigator programme' caters for young European life scientists in the first three years of setting up their own research laboratory. Those selected to take part in the programme are in a stronger position to obtain funds nationally and internationally. The researchers also receive other benefits, such as mentorship and networking opportunities, as well as an annual award of 15,000 euro, funded by their respective national government.
