Southern Danish region launches online innovation gateway
The Funen region of Southern Denmark has launched an online innovation gateway which seeks to promote collaboration and research in four key industrial sectors. 4Frontregion is an initiative of the Odense Municipality and Funen County, and aims to generate regional growth by creating networks of competence and forging links between research institutes, businesses and public authorities. The partners behind the initiative decided to focus on high technology sectors with significant potential for creating economic growth in the region. The chosen areas are: biotechnology and life sciences, robotics and production technology, communication and information technology, and horticulture. Further aims of the initiative include efforts to motivate highly educated graduates from the region to stay in the area, and measures to attract competent employees and new companies to the Funen region.
