New search feature to explore all CORDIS content
CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, has developed a powerful new search tool to help users find the information they need. The new search feature offers a quick and easy way to find information from amongst more than 40,000 web pages, nine databases and thousands of documents. It is able to search by type of information, for example funding opportunities, exploitable results, events or partners. In a few clicks, users can select the scope of information they want to search within, and look using specific keywords. Complex searches can also be carried out using designated operators. A comprehensive help file provides useful search tips. Search results are displayed in a list and can be classified in order of date or relevance. The most relevant results are selected through a logic formula based on the key terms frequency (Salton's formula). In addition, users can obtain a short abstract of each result thus enabling them to rapidly select the information that best matches their field of interest. This new search interface is yet another improvement designed to help newcomers and experienced users benefit from the wealth of information on CORDIS. Feedback on this new interface can be sent online to assist CORDIS in further developing the search facilities.
