Competition launched to find best innovative practices in regional development
The Commission's Regional Policy Directorate General has launched a competition to identify the most innovative projects currently being implemented within the framework of the European regional development fund's regional programmes of innovative actions. The competition will identify the best innovative practices in regional development in order to promote awareness among regional policy-makers of the benefits of supporting innovation. The competition is expected to facilitate the exchange of experiences between regions. Three prizes will be awarded in the following strategic areas: knowledge-based economy, information society and sustainable development. The competition is open to regional authorities in every Member State which has an innovative actions programme approved by the European Commission.
