Broadcast service and programme production funding
A call for proposals issued by the European Commission concerns Community support for broadcast service and programme production. It explains how to obtain the documents necessary to make two separate but related proposals: - For Community support of one or more wide-screen broadcasting services; - For Community support of programme production and conversion in the 16/9 format. The call is made in the context of the Community Action Plan for the introduction of advanced television services in Europe. The Commission services involved will send, within two days of receiving the request, the documents explaining how proposals should be made. An information meeting will be held on 17 February 1994 (Borchette Centre, 36 rue Froissart, B-1040 Brussels) for those interested in submitting proposals. The meeting will be in two parts: - Morning session (10.30-13.00): In order to answer queries on the broadcasting part of the Action Plan exclusively; - Afternoon session (14.00-17.30): To answer queries on programme production and conversion funding under the Action Plan. Broadcasters or producers wishing to attend one of these meetings should fax the names of their representatives to the address given.
