CORDIS, the European Community's Research and Development Information Service, has revamped its site dedicated to national and European funded research in France. The new service, developed by the French Ministry for Research and New Technologies, together with CORDIS, offers timely coverage of news and policy developments related to innovation in France. It also introduces the French research sector's main actors, infrastructures and activities, including funding programmes, networks and contacts. In the section on research priorities, users will discover the French perspective on a range of issues, from the mobility of researchers to ITER (the international thermonuclear experimental reactor). The service also offers a comprehensive overview of the administration of research and technology at both national and regional level in France. Sections are dedicated to topics such as public research, research in business, and French research infrastructures. Users will also find details of French input into the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), French national contact points for FP6 ,and sections on other European programmes such as COST and EUREKA. Finally, the service presents a series of French research and innovation events, as well as a list of useful links to relevant scientific press. The improved interface is aimed at promoting France's research and innovation capabilities and furthering the country's cooperation with other partners in support of the ongoing construction of the European Research Area.
