The European Commission has published a call for proposals for specific targeted research projects and coordination actions for developing countries under the Sixth Framework Programme activity 'specific measures in support of international cooperation - developing countries'. This is one of the areas covered by the 'integrating and strengthening the European Research Area' specific programme.

This call covers the following areas:
- health care systems, policy and management (A.1.2 in the work programme);
- knowledge and technologies to improve control of neglected communicable diseases (A.1.3);
- biodiverse, biosafe and value added crops (A.3.2).
