On 8 March Mr Riccardo Perissich, Director-General of DG III of the European Commission will launch the 1994 edition of the European Information Technology Observatory (EITO) yearbook. The yearbook is supported by the Commisssion in conjunction with EUROBIT (European Association of Manufactures of Business Machines and Infomation Technology), CEBIT (the German IT Exhibition), SIMO (the Spanish IT exhibition) and SMAU (the Italian IT exhibition) to provide operators in the maket with an up-to-date guide on developments in the European IT market. "EITO '94" will provide the latest statistics and forecasts on the entire European market for information technology and communication technology as well as informationon on current technological trends. It will also carry special surveys on the IT services market in the Member States as well as the countries of Eastern Europe. Mobile computing and communications are examined in depth as well as public administation IT applications.
