The export of chemicals which are banned or severely restricted in the European Union requires that the first export of such a chemical be accompanied by a notification (Regulation 2455/92/EEC). Each notification is given a reference number which accompanies subsequent exports of the chemical from the EU to the same third country. In accordance with the Articles of the Regulation, the Commission has published a list of these reference numbers in the Official Journal of the European Communities. The current list covers banned or severely restricted chemicals that have been exported to 3 December 1993.
