The EU funded EQUAL project has published a call for tenders for laboratories to carry out molecular diagnostics in areas such as clinical chemistry, human genetics, haematology, infectiology, pathology, forensics and other areas.

Three different external quality assurance schemes are foreseen:
- EQUAL-qual for monitoring performance of qualitative PCR based assays;
- EQUAL-quant for monitoring performance of 5 nuclease quantitative PCR based assays;
- EQUAL-seq for monitoring sequencing based assays.
