Commission launches consultation on the future of European research policy
The European Commission has launched a consultation process on the future of European policy to support research. The consultation follows the publication of the communication 'Science and technology, the key to Europe's future', which outlines proposals for new technology partnerships, a new agency to support basic research, and a new management structure for EU funded initiatives. The communication also proposes a major increase to the EU research budget. The results of the consultation will be used by the Commission when preparing its proposal for the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). The Commission invites members of the international research community, as well as users of research, to participate in the consultation by completing an online questionnaire.
