CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, has launched a new web service for Croatia, following the awarding of EU candidate status to the country on 18 June 2004 by the European Council.

The service currently offers in-depth coverage of the latest news as well as Croatia 's participation in European Union funded projects.

The Croatian service is part of the candidate countries gateway, available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, which aims to raise awareness of candidate countries' involvement in European research programmes. This should lead to better identification of key players and national scientific strengths, thus facilitating further collaboration under the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6).
