Open competition to recruit administrators in the field of research
The European Commission has announced an open competition to recruit administrators from the new EU Member States (Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovenia, and Slovakia) in the following research fields: - chemistry and biology (reserve list of 30 candidates); - physics and materials science (reserve list of 20 candidates); - socioeconomics and risk (reserve list of 20 candidates); - image and data processing (reserve list of 20 candidates). The purpose of the competition is to draw up four reserve lists from which to fill vacant posts within the institutions of the European Union, and in particular the Commission. Applicants must have a university degree in one of these areas of specialisation, as well as three years' full time professional experience in a relevant field. The closing date for applications is 23 September 2004.
