Commission calls for tenders for creation of web portal on basic research in Europe
The European Commission has published a call for tenders for a service contract on key issues in basic research. The contract will require the design and creation of a novel web portal on basic research in Europe, its technical and editorial maintenance with professional content management, including the publication of a web-based magazine with first hand information, studies, analyses, interviews and articles on key issues in basic research. The web portal shall also serve to increase visibility of the Commission's activities and initiatives in basic research and induce awareness and interest on corresponding outcomes. The material published shall be of the highest quality and originality, intellectually and visually stimulating, easily accessible, and shall be attractive and interesting for specialist and generalist scientists and for the informed general public. The web portal, with its web-based magazine, should become a well-known and highly appreciated information source and reference based on quality, authenticity, timeliness and attractiveness to readers, reflected in an increasing readership.
