Political scientists and researchers invited to join Group of Political Analysis
The European Commission has established a new advisory group involving political scientists and researchers. It is hoped that the group will stimulate dialogue between the Commission and experts from academia, business and civil society, and provide the College of Commissioners with objective and impartial advice on EU policies. The Group of Political Analysis (GPA) is one of three such external advisory groups, the other two focusing on economics and social science. The special advisors within the GPA are as follows: Dusan Sisjanski, founder and former director of the department of political science at the University of Geneva; Loukas Tsoukalis, Professor at the University of Athens and the College of Europe; José Cutileiro, former George F. Kennan Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, the US. The GPA meetings will be chaired by Commission President José Manuel Barroso and attended by Commissioners with relevant portfolios.
