Statistical information in the European Economic Area (EEA)
States of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) shall participate in the European Community's plans for priority actions in the field of statistical information. In particular, an EEA statistical programme will be established as a subset of the EC's statistical programme. The EFTA States shall participate fully in the Committees which assist the Commission in the management and development of actions under this programme, and shall also contribute financially. This Decision of the EEA Joint Committee, of 8 February 1994, enters into force on 1 May 1994. An Appendix to the Decision sets out a list of the programme elements making up the EEA statistical programme. These define some 200 areas in which statistical information shall be gathered.
