The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) has published a call for tenders for studies on integrated environmental impact assessment, targeting rural development AGRI-ENV measures, as well as the collection and structuring of large scale soil data. The purpose of the contract will be to identify, assess and map actual environmental impacts of rural development AGRI-ENV schemes. The provided methodologies will be contributing towards improved spatial targeting of agri-environment measures at local scale. Moreover, the studies under this contract shall take into account the socio-economic and climatic context of environmental changes. In addition, consideration is to be given to integration of environmental requirements of various EC policies and strategies. Furthermore the contract aims at research, classification, (geo) referencing and integration of available datasets of soil maps (min 1:10 000 scale), cadastral maps, land use and climatic information. Data collection and development of methods and tools will be based on case studies in different geographic regions focusing on relevant environmental problems. These will include erosion, land degradation, desertification, soil conservation, agricultural water use, nitrogen leaching, Natura 2000 sites and High Nature Value farmland. In view of the local character of the studies, the specific data needs and participatory processes required, the involvement of local partners and administrations is a prerequisite. The contract will consist of different lots covering various geographic regions and objectives. Potential contractors can tender for one or more lots independently. For further information, please contact: European Commission Joint Research Centre Institute for Environment and Sustainability Attn: Ms I.
