JRC calls for study on health risks of hair dyes
The European Commission's Joint Research Centre has published a call for tenders for a review of the health effects and related risks from hair dyes. During the last decades there has been a number of animal and human studies on the potential health effects and risks resulting from the use of hair dyes, including skin allergies, hair loss, genetic toxicity, carcinogenicity, reproductive/endocrine effects and others. More recently several published reports have discussed the potential association between permanent hair dye use and bladder cancer. For further information, please contact: European Commission Joint Research Centre Institute for Health and Consumer Protection Management Support Unit Attn: Anna Maria Dürr via E.
