The Commission's Information Society DG has published a call for tenders relating to a study on the impact of the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector on economic growth and competitiveness. The i2010 initiative aims to exploit the opportunities for economic growth and jobs in Europe by promoting an open and competitive digital economy. Policy actions undertaken within this initiative will have impact on the competitiveness of the European ICT sector and on the rest of the economy. The objective of the present study is therefore to define the 'new' ICT sector, to propose a set of indicators to measure competitiveness and its impact on growth, to provide up-to-date data in this respect and to contribute to the analysis of current progress towards the spread of the information society. For further information, please contact: European Commission Directorate-General Information Society Attn: Jurand Drop Directorate C, Unit C1 BU33 2/05 B-1049 Brussels Tel +32-2-298-0766 Fax +32-2-296-1780 E-mail: Jurand.Drop@cec.eu.int To see the full details of the call, please: click here(opens in new window)
