Research and development services and related consultancy services
The European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions has published a call for tenders for research and development services and related consultancy services. The Foundation contributes to the planning and establishment of better living and working conditions through action designed to increase and disseminate knowledge likely to assist this development. It carries out its role in partnership with governments, employers' organisations, trade unions and the European Commission. It researches, analyses and monitors trends in the living and working environment on a European comparative basis. It has developed a number of 'monitoring tools', such as surveys and thematic comparative observatories. Complementing these monitoring tools, it undertakes research that examines practical experience, under the heading 'exploring what works'. The case study has from the beginning been one of the methods of enquiry used. Case study research in the Foundation has taken many different forms and purposes, reflecting the evolution of the Foundation itself and its aims as a research institution providing information and advice to policy-makers in the European Union. Although this has created a considerable body of case-study knowledge and expertise, which is doubtless part of the Foundation, up until now there has not been a unified methodological approach based on an agreed set of quality standards for conducting, analysing and reporting case studies in the Foundation. The Foundation is committed to ensuring that its research follows the highest quality standards. For this purpose, the Foundation wants to conclude a contract for the development of a unified methodological approach based on a set of agreed quality standards for carrying out cross-national case study research in the Foundation in the future. This should be based on an evaluation of the previous case study research of the Foundation and an assessment of the needs for the future in this issue. The contractor will also outline the methodology of a project that will be developed in 2006, to be specified by the Foundation team. For further information, please contact: European for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions Attn: Roseanna Creamer Wyattville Road Loughlinstown IRL-Dublin 18 Tel +353-1-204-32-28 Fax +353-1-282-64-56 E-mail: rvc@eurofound.eu.int To see the full details of the call, please consult the following web address: http://ted.publications.eu.int/udl?REQUEST=Seek-Deliver&LANGUAGE=en&DOCID=211700-2005(opens in new window)
