Conference to examine the impact of eGovernment in Europe
A conference on the impact of eGovernment will take place on 13 September in Helsinki, Finland. The aim of the event is to track the progress on the eGovernment Action Plan, as well as the status of national and regional impact frameworks, while exploring partnership with industry. All Member States have undertaken to use eGovernment to achieve 'considerable gains in efficiency' and 'significant reductions in administrative burdens' by 2010. Under the i2010 eGovernment Action Plan, the Commission and the Member States will put in place an impact oriented measurement framework in line with the i2010 benchmarking framework. The conference is jointly organised by the European Commission and the Finnish Presidency of the EU in collaboration with SAP and Capgemini. The Finnish Minister for Finance will open the conference.
