Development and validation of methods for evaluating chronic toxicity to freshwater ecosystems
The European Commission, DG XII, in conjunction with Shell Research Ltd, has produced an introductory report on an environmental technology project entitled "Development and validation of methods for evaluating chronic toxicity to freshwater ecosystems" (Project No EV4V-0110-UK(BA)). The project assesses the general applicability of single-species chronic toxicity tests with a range of invertebrate and planktonic algal species. The report presents selected elements of the contributions made by each of the institutes involved in the project, including the results of laboratory tests and field experiments.
