Computing Centre launches ICARUS newsletter
The Interuniversity Computing Centre, CINECA, has launched an English-language newsletter called "Flying High". It is devoted exclusively to documenting the progress of ICARUS, a European supercomputing project run by the centre. The newsletter is distributed with CINECA's "Notizie dal CINECA" magazine. ICARUS (Intensive Computing for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research for European Scientists), is part of the access to large-scale facilities initiative within the European Commission's Human Capital and Mobility programme (DG XII). Through ICARUS, CINECA provides access to its supercomputing facilities for EU researchers. In 1994, CINECA will host 18 researchers from Denmark, Spain, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. During the last three years of the ICARUS project, CINECA will have made available 144 researcher-months of computing time for advanced training and research.
