The European Aviation Safety Agency has issued a call for tenders for an investigation of the technical feasibility and safety benefit of a light aeroplane operational Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) system. The object of this research project is to carry out a feasibility study, an initial prototype design and a trial of an integrated FDM system for a single engine light aeroplane that in addition provides a flight data storage and retrieval capability.
