Commission Regulation on the dissemination and exploitation of knowledge
The European Commission has published a Regulation ((EC) No 1990/94) adopting the implementation provisions for the rules laid down in Council Decision 92/272/EEC on the dissemination and exploitation of knowledge resulting from the specific programmes of research and technological development of the Community. The Regulation recognizes the need to ensure the coherence of schemes for disseminating the knowledge resulting from specific programmes in the Framework Programmes. Shared-cost contracts have become the principal means of implementing the Community's specific programmes of research and technological development and account for the greatest portion of total financing allocated for the entire Framework Programme. Under these contracts work is often carried out by several partners and this Regulation deals with the ownership of the results once the work is completed.
