The European Commission, DG XVIII, has published a notice of support-service contracts for the following lots: - Lot 1: Support service for Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. A support unit is required to administer, in cooperation with Commission services, the joint-venture PHARE programme aimed at stimulating the creation of joint ventures in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (JOPP), which was set up in 1991; - Lot 2: Technology and economic-data information service covering the field of high technology. Under the "Eurotech Capital" programme aimed at stimulating investment in Community SMEs involved in transnational high-tech projects, a service is required to provide, on a European scale, standard information packages concerning new products in the high-tech field. Packages cover: - Technology (ongoing research, similar products, patents); - Markets (current and future markets, market share); - Sectors (structure, trends; manufacturing, distribution and user firms). - Lot 3: Information service covering Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. As part of the PHARE programme referred to under Lot 1, it is planned to set up a service to identify and collect the relevant information available on these countries,and to disseminate it to the Community SMEs involved in the programme.
