A Council Resolution of 18 December 1990 on the comparability of vocational training qualifications sets out the considerations and wishes of the Council regarding Decision 85/386/EEC of 16 July 1985 on the comparability of vocational training qualifications between the Member States of the European Community (OJ No L 199, 31.7.1985). Underlining the interest of information emerging from work in this field, especially with regard to mobility, the Council considers it necessary to decide within three months on the extension of work to those other occupations at all levels most frequently related to mobility - inter alia, qualifications connected with technological innovation should be one priority. The Council wishes descriptions of professional activity to reflect the practical requirements of the labour market, and further notes the need for a sustained effort of dissemination, exchange and utilization of information. Member States are invited to submit the first national reports called for in the above Decision by 31 December 1991.
