The European Commission has published an open call for tender for expert positions in its Directorate-General for Telecommunications, Information Market, and Exploitation of Research (DG XIII). DG XIII foresees a requirement for temporary technical assistance in a number of domains under its responsibility. Fourteen positions are foreseen in Directorate A (Telecommunications) in the following fields: - A1: Two posts: Two experts in policy and regulatory aspects. - A2: Two posts: . One expert in Community law in telecommunications in the open network provision rules (ONP), ETSI and State aid; . One expert in ISDN, mobile communication and satellite earth equipment standardization issues. - A3: Two posts: . One telecommunications engineer in advanced switched terrestrial networks; . One senior expert in economic analyses and financial engineering. - A4: Two posts: . One expert to advise on the business aspects of launching new broadcasting services; . One expert to advise on the regulatory issues arising from new broadcasting services. - A5: Two posts: . One expert to advise on the general regulations issues concerning postal policies throughout the EU; . One expert for the follow-up of postal trading. - A6: Two posts: . One lawyer with expertise in Community law/legal matters concerning international telecommunications and postal services; . One expert on the use of telecommunications in developing countries, particularly in China and India. - A7: Two posts: . One expert in the regional telecommunications and telecommunications service provision and networking; . One expert in trans-border regional technological development, innovation and technology transfer. The place of work will be the Commission's premises in Brussels. Candidatures may be submitted for one or more of these positions. The contracts are proposed for an initial period of one year (220 working days). At the Commission's discretion this period may be extended twice up to a maximum of three years (660 working days).
