The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has launched a call for tenders to define environmental risk assessment criteria for genetically-modified (GM) mammals and birds to be placed on the EU market. EFSA expects to receive a detailed analysis of the type of expertise and data required to conduct an environmental risk assessment of GM mammals and birds which may be commercially released, either deliberately or accidentally, into the EU environment.
